Actor Ryan O'Neal and his daughter Tatum have not spoken for the past 25 years. Now, in order to make another attempt at a relationship, the Oprah Winfrey Network will follow the family on the reality series Ryan and Tatum: The O'Neals.

Tina Greenbaum, who has a master's degree in social work (MSW), recently told Social Workers Speak that the new reality television show could be a good thing for people across the country who are struggling with relationship problems.

"I think that seeing anyone work through their relationship issues is a good thing," she told the news source. "The beauty of seeing real people go through real issues is that we can all identify in some way or another."

During her 30 years of clinical practice, Greenbaum said she has seen many people go through the same problem as the O'Neals. In these situations, the social worker said she would commend anyone who wants to try to mend a broken relationship. If people feel like they have "unfinished business," it can take a toll on their health and happiness.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, clinical social workers like Greenbaum work in a private practice where they are hired by clients. These positions generally require an MSW.
